Football: Arsenal are interested in RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa.london understands, with the January window still around two months away and Mikel Arteta confirming that international fixtures form part of the club's recruitment work.

The Norway international is one of several players the Gunners are keen on, according to football.london, with Bournemouth’s's Eli Junior Kroupi also understood to be under consideration. Arsenal go into Saturday afternoon's Premier League meeting with Hull City at the Emirates Stadium top of the table.

Arteta on using the international break

Asked at his pre-match press conference whether international matches help with planning ahead of the window, Arteta said: "Yes, we do." He explained that speaking to his own players about those they spend time with on international duty provides "very valuable information", adding: "I think we all do that. He added, "But there's always a lot to learn."

Nusa is due to feature for Norway against Wales and Denmark over the break, where he will be alongside Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard — a detail football.london highlights as potentially useful to the club.

Competition and the asking price

According to The Evening Standard, Arsenal have been informed they are leading the chase for Nusa, while Leipzig are reportedly asking for no less than £50m. The Standard adds that Arsenal are expected to attempt to improve their attack in the mid-season window.

Competition is anticipated. Football.london understands that a French side is active and assessing options on the left wing following an injury to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Standard also notes that Nusa is less experienced than other reported Arsenal targets, such as Kroupi and Juventus's Kenan Yildiz, but could be more attainable in January.

Lokberg: Arsenal the "obvious option"

Lokberg called Arsenal "the completely obvious option in the Premier League", arguing that the player fits their playing style and that the club has a real need on the left. He also suggested a figure closer to £40m could force Leipzig's hand, while the Standard reports the German club's demand stands at £50m or more.

Season form and the Brentford episode

The outlets differ slightly on Nusa's numbers this season: football.london reports five goals and seven assists, while the Standard reports six goals and seven assists in 13 Bundesliga appearances. Both agree the 21-year-old is on course for his most prolific campaign.

Football.According to london, Nusa nearly moved to Brentford previously, but a medical concern caused the deal to break down. Speaking to VG in March 2024, he said: "Something wasn't right. Finding out the truth about it mattered. We've done that now." He added: "It's about health. He explained, "As a footballer, you want to be 100%."
