Mikel Arteta has praised Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s return to form and insists he has no question marks over the Arsenal captain’s mentality.
The 31-year-old has scored eight goals in his last 10 appearances for the Gunners, while his latest effort helped secure a 3-2 victory over Benfica in the Europa League.
Arteta believes Aubameyang’s improvement in recent weeks has been helped by experiencing ‘difficult moments’ this season.
And the Arsenal manager says he was pleased to see the striker ‘upset’ in training before the win over Benfica because he had missed a penalty.
‘He is getting into much better positions, his rhythm during the games is much better with and without the ball, his movement too,’ said Arteta.
‘The week before when we played Benfica, he had three big chances and I am not worried about him missing them because I know if he gets in those positions, he is going to be scoring consistently, this is what he has to demand of himself.
