Arsenal defender William Saliba has hit out at the club for not giving him an opportunity after his £27m move to the Gunners in 2019.
The highly-rated centre-back was brought to The Gunners from St Etienne but was immediately loaned back to the Ligue 1 club for the season.
The 19-year-old was hoping to get more of a look-in this current season but he failed to make a senior appearance over the first half of the campaign and is now back in his homeland with Nice on loan for the rest of 2020/21.
Saliba has already played four times since the move and is clearly enjoying life in the south of France.
However, in an interview with TV station TF1, the teenager has opened up on his time with Arsenal so far and admits to being ‘hurt’ at the way he has been treated by the Gunners.

“I really, really, really didn’t think that I would be transferred for €30m,” he said.
“To think that I would arrive, where people were expecting a lot from me, the fans excited about me and you find yourself in the reserves, play zero – nothing in the Europa League or the [Premier] League.
“I was in the squad once in the League Cup. It hurt me, it affected me.
“I don’t think I left too early. When you feel ready you have to go. These things happen. I believe in myself.”
Saliba is with Nice until the end of the season and although the defender is under contract in north London until 2024, he says he is unsure of his long-term future.
“I don’t know,” he said. “I have learned now that it is better not to look too far in the future.
“I am focused on just these 6 months to try to give absolutely everything and for the rest we will see.”
