‘Sign him up!’ – Excited Arsenal fans have decided Edu’s final January transfer mission

Arsenal fans are talking about Folarin Balogun.

The 19-year-old made quite the impression in the Europa League group phase this season, scoring twice and registering an assist in three substitute appearances.

Although, he’s yet to be given a Premier League debut by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

And it remains to be seen if he will still be at the club for the 2021/22 season as his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

Earlier in the month, there was talk of a pre-contract agreement with RB Leipzig which was swiftly refuted by Fabrizio Romano who claims Balogun has received more than 15 offers but is stalling on a new deal with the Gunners as he wants to play first-team football.

But amid all the speculation regarding his future, the teenager has let his football do the talking.

Named in the U23’s starting XI for their Premier League 2 clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday evening, Balogun did what he does best – score goals.

The striker netted a hat-trick in a 5-0 win for the young Gunners with Miguel Azeez and Nikolaj Moller also on the scoresheet.

As expected, there has been a big reaction to Balogun’s hat-trick on social media.
