Former Arsenal striker sends Gunners warning as Mikel Arteta handed injury boost

Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Monday, January 18.

Campbell’s Newcastle warning

Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has told his old team that they will need to be on top of their game this evening as they face a ‘fighting’ Newcastle United side.

The Magpies come into the Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on the back of three consecutive defeats in all competitions, with Steve Bruce coming under increasing pressure.

The Gunners will be looking for a return to winning ways in the league after their 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Thursday evening.

Campbell, speaking on the Same Old Arsenal Podcast, said: “We have to be very careful about how we approach this game and we have to make sure we are at the top of our game because they are going to make life difficult for us that is for sure.

“That’s a job well done. I don’t know what Newcastle fans…they say they want a team that fights, they are fighting! They are!”
