Arsenal will be looking to inflict a second defeat on Newcastle United in a week on Monday night when they host the Magpies in the Premier League.
The Gunners knocked Steve Bruce’s side out of the FA Cup last weekend by beating them 2-0 after extra time but they were unable to follow that up last Thursday as they were held to a goalless draw by Crystal Palace.
They have a good chance to get back on track though against a Newcastle side who were beaten by Sheffield United last Tuesday – the Blades’ first league win all season.
Mikel Arteta’s side are currently in 11th place in the league standings with 24 points from 18 games and could do with a win to edge further up the table.
On the plus side, their injury list is decreasing and the Spaniard will be hoping to have as many players back as possible for the Newcastle showdown.
