Martinelli, Gabriel, Partey: Arsenal team news and injury updates ahead of Crystal Palace

Arsenal host Crystal Palace on Thursday night at the Emirates Stadium just five days after playing 120 minutes in the FA Cup third round.

Before Mikel Arteta’s men can turn their minds to the cup Arsenal face two games against Palace and Newcastle in the Premier League.

Gabriel Martinelli

Martinelli was forced out of the Arsenal lineup ahead of the FA Cup tie with Newcastle with Arteta fearing the worst:

“He was in a lot of pain and we’re going to have to see how he is. He was in pain so I imagine we’re not going to have good news with him.”

However, a scan on Monday revealed that there was no major damage and the Brazilian can be expected to return to action shortly. The Palace game may come too soon for the striker, but an appearance against Newcastle on Monday is not out of the question.
