Arsenal transfer rumours: Dortmund make Julian Brandt decision, Mikel Arteta’s Mesut Ozil stance

It may still be the first week of the January transfer window, but Arsenal have already made their intentions clear as they look to offload a slew of reserve and youth players.

Sead Kolasinac was loaned out as soon as the festivities were finished, while William Saliba has already made his debut for Nice having agreed on a six-month loan deal earlier in the month.

But Arsenal and Mikel Arteta are not set to stop there. We have an update from the Arsenal manager on one of the most controversial figures in the build-up to the window.

We also have updates on two potential targets, one of which could solve the Gunners’ much-discussed need for a creative midfielder.

Dortmund make Brandt decision

Borussia Dortmund have made a decision on the future of Julian Brandt amid interest from Arsenal, according to reports in Germany.

Brandt has been heavily linked with a move to north London after falling out of the first-team set-up with Dortmund this season. The 24-year-old has only played 13 Bundesliga games this season, of which seven were as a substitute.

And now, per German outlet Bild via the Metro, Dortmund would be willing to let Brandt leave in the January window, but only on loan. It is said that they feel he still has long-term value after only signing him from Bayer Leverkusen 18 months prior.

football.london previously reported that Dortmund would be willing to accept as little €25million (£22.5m) in a permanent transfer, which would be more appealing to a rebuilding Arsenal.
