Thomas Partey’s perfect midfield partner at Arsenal has been revealed after Brighton win

Yves Bissouma would be the perfect midfield partner for Thomas Partey at Arsenal.

That’s according to ex-Gunners striker Kevin Campbell, who made the claim before Mikel Arteta’s side kicked off against Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday evening at the Amex Stadium.

Bissouma started and played the full 90 minutes, and is player whom Arsenal should be tracking ahead of the January transfer window.

“I think Arsenal could do with a player like him, for sure,” Campbell said on Amazon Prime. “I think Thomas Partey needs a partner in the midfield with energy and I think that he would fit that bill perfectly.”

Partey sat out Arsenal’s trip to the Amex Stadium as he continues to recover from the thigh injury that has sidelined him since the North London Derby loss against Tottenham at the beginning of the month.

In his absence, Arteta went with Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny as his midfield pairing against the Seagulls.

Having splashed out £45m to sign Partey from Atletico Madrid in the summer window, it’s clear Arteta is planning to build his midfield around the Ghana international.

However, who partners the 27-year-old in the engine room is still up for debate.

All signs are pointing towards Bissouma being the perfect long-term partner for Partey, with some Gunners fans already making that transfer demand to technical director Edu.

Although, the north London outfit could face strong competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United to land the 24-year-old.

“There have been no approaches,” Potter told reporters last week. “As I’ve said before, just because it’s in the media, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true.
