Full Arsenal squad revealed for Premier League showdown vs Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal will be hoping to provide their supporters with a much-needed Christmas present when they welcome London rivals Chelsea to the Emirates Stadium for this teatime’s Boxing Day clash, kick-off 5:30pm.

The Gunners, who crashed out of the Carabao Cup in midweek, losing 4-1 at home to reigning holders Manchester City, will welcome the Blues across the capital in the hope of recording a much-needed Premier League win.

Arsenal currently find themselves on seven-game winless run in the league, a period of matches which has seen them lose five times, including home defeats to the likes of Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

With that in mind, as well as the prospect of relegation becoming a real possibility, the Gunners need to start getting their season back on track, and quickly.

However, with the Gunners struggling for form and in desperate need of a victory, Mikel Arteta’s side could have probably done without a visit from arch rivals Chelsea, who will arrive at the Emirates Stadium this evening in the hope of climbing back into the top-four after two defeats in their last three matches.

Ahead of this evening’s highly anticipated Boxing Day encounter, under-fire Gunners chief Arteta has set the challenge of turning the club’s season around to his players, insisting a clash with Chelsea is an ideal opportunity.

Speaking to the media ahead of the clash with Frank Lampard’s troops, Arteta said: “Yes, but we are trying to respond every week and for different reasons we are not picking up results. It happened the last time against Burnley, a game that we should be winning.
