Thomas Partey will have his first training session with the Arsenal squad on Friday in a race against time to be passed fit against Tottenham.
The Ghanaian midfielder has been on the sidelines for almost a month after sustaining a thigh injury against Aston Villa at the start of November.
Partey’s injury was confirmed as being worse than first feared after he didn’t travel with Ghana over the international break and he will now take part in a training session with the team a couple of days before Sunday’s Premier League match.
“Well, he’s putting a lot of pressure on us,” said Arteta.
“He’s training tomorrow with us and let’s see how it goes in the next couple of days.”
