Parlour calls on Pepe to replicate Molde performance against ‘big sides’
Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has insisted Nicolas Pepe must start performing consistently if he is to establish himself as a regular in Mikel Arteta’s starting XI.
The winger impressed in Thursday night’s Europa League win at Molde, scoring his side’s first goal and going some way towards making amends for his needless red card against Leeds United last weekend.
But Parlour has challenged Pepe to produce similar displays against Premier League opposition.
“It’s alright doing it against smaller sides – not disrespecting Molde – but you’ve got to do it against the big sides,” he told talkSPORT.
“You’ve got to make that impact that he made last night against your Leeds Uniteds and the teams in the Premier League.
“He’s showed glimpses he can do it in the Premier League but he hasn’t done it on a regular basis.

“Again, you go back to consistency. You’ve got to do it week in, week out.
“You’ve got to be a seven, eight out of 10 week in, week out – and that’s where you’re going to be a real success at your club.”
Arteta asks Arsenal chiefs to sign Real Madrid midfielder
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta reportedly wants the club to pursue a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Isco in the January transfer window.
The Spain international has been linked with a January exit after falling out of favour under Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane.
And Spanish outlet Defensa Central claim Arteta has asked Arsenal chiefs to target Isco as he looks to add creativity to his midfield.
The Gunners reportedly intend to sign the 28-year-old on an initial loan deal, but an offer has not yet been tabled.
