Wilshere makes Arteta admission
Jack Wilshere has revealed how Mikel Arteta showed future managerial traits while still a player at Arsenal .
The 38-year-old, who joined the Gunners in 2011, took on his first job as a coach in December last year following the dismissal of Unai Emery.
Asked if Arteta showed signs that he would eventually become a manager, Wilshere told the ITV Football Show: “Yes, 100 per cent. “He was a good guy to be around, but he wouldn’t get involved in the banter – he was always focused.

“As soon as a game finished, he would be thinking about the next one. He would always be speaking with the manager and if anyone would speak in a meeting it would be him.
“At the time, he wasn’t even the captain. Eventually, he went on to be the captain but he wasn’t the captain at the time. He had just come in and everyone was like: ‘This guy is really intense’. You have that sense about a player who is either going to be a coach or a manager. He was just a little bit different.”
