Arsenal legend Martin Keown suggests training ground bust-ups happen on a regular basis, but the reported spat between David Luiz and Dani Ceballos could suggest a ‘problem within the camp’ at the Emirates.
The Brazilian defender and Spanish midfielder reportedly clashed in training earlier this week, with things getting physical between the pair.
The Athletic reported that Luiz was angered by a challenge from Ceballos and hit him in the face, drawing blood.
The on-loan Real Madrid man disputed the story by tweeting ‘FAKE’ in response to the original article, but Gunners boss Mikel Arteta did not deny the clash had occurred.
Of the incident, Arteta said: ‘Nothing. The training is very competitive and issues happened a lot of times, those things get resolved immediately within the team and not much to say. There is no problem between the two.’
Keown also tried to downplay the clash, saying that similar things happen regularly, but it could be a sign of unhappiness in the squad as they struggle to find consistent results.
