Arteta ‘hurt’ by Ozil situation
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he has been ‘hurt’ by Mesut Ozil’s situation at the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta has frozen Ozil out of first-team matters in north London, omitting the German from both Premier League and Europa League squads this season.
“With Mesut at the moment, with the squad list obviously he cannot be involved,” Arteta told beIN Sports.
“I tried to be as clear as possible with himself and with all the media and fans because I think they deserve to know the reasons why.

“Some people would understand it and a lot of people wouldn’t understand it because of the player he is [and] what he’s done for the club.
“I’m hurt because I don’t like any players in my squad not to have the possibility to participate or to compete. For me it’s really sad because I think nobody deserves that. And we have a few in our squad now because of the numbers we have with foreign players.”
Gabon boss reveals Aubameyang fear
Gabon head coach Patrice Neveu says he is worried that Arsenal will try to prevent Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from playing for his country in the future after a recent mix-up.
Aubameyang and his Gabon team-mates were forced to sleep at Banjul International Airport due to an administrative error ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against The Gambia on Monday.
Not losing Aubameyang to international duty would be a considerable boost to Arsenal, given the travel time and absence from training plus extra risk of injury, with the striker now 31.
