Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed that Emiliano Martinez has been in touch with him ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Aston Villa.
Aubameyang and Martinez both played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s FA Cup success last season, but the Argentine goalkeeper left the Gunners to join Villa this summer.
Martinez returns to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday as Villa travel to Arsenal in the Premier League.
And Aubameyang has revealed that his former Arsenal teammate has already tried some light-hearted mind games if Mikel Arteta’s side win a penalty during Sunday’s match.
‘They [Villa] look really strong so far this season,’ Aubameyang told Arsenal’s official matchday programme.
‘The last time we played them was really difficult, and maybe it will be even more difficult this time.
