Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was heavily critical of his side after their 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa at the Emirates on Sunday.
The Gunners were full of confidence going into the game in north London following their 1-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford last Sunday.
However, the Gunners were strangely subdued from the off at the Emirates and they were unlucky not to be behind early on when John McGinn had a goal disallowed following a VAR review.
But Villa quickly got a deserved opener when Bukayo Saka scored an own goal and Ollie Watkins scored twice in the second half to round off the victory.
It was Arsenal’s fourth defeat in eight matches and Arteta made no excuses for his side afterwards, claiming it was the first time under his management that they have failed to play as a ‘team’.
