The blame for Mesut Ozil’s exile at Arsenal lies with the player himself and not manager Mikel Arteta, says Gunners legend Lauren.
The playmaker last featured for the team back in March and has now been excluded from Arteta’s Europa League and Premier League squads.
Ozil hit back at his latest snub by accusing the club of lacking ‘loyalty and allegiance’ to him.

Earlier this year, the 32-year-old was one of the Gunners players to have rejected a pay cut during the Covid-19 shutdown. However, Arteta insisted that Ozil opting not to take a hit on his mammoth £350,000-a-week wages is not the reason he has not featured.
The World Cup winner was also frozen out for a time under previous boss Unai Emery – and Invincible Lauren believes that the midfielder is to blame for his continued exclusion and not his managers or the club.
‘Ozil is a top player, it’s sad to see a top player not being involved in a team like Arsenal,’ Lauren told Sky Sports.
