Mesut Ozil’s agent has made a promise to Arsenal fans while taking aim at the Gunners over the club’s redundancies.
Dr Erkut Sogut spoke out against the Gunners last week, accusing manager Mikel Arteta of not being honest with supporters over the exclusion of Ozil, who hasn’t played since March.
Arteta says his ‘conscience is very calm’ over Ozil’s omission, but Sogut and indeed many fans believe the decisions may be coming from above Arteta with the Gunners board said to be unhappy with Ozil’s £350,000 per week contract.
The German is in the last year of his contract and it seems the board were keen for him to leave in the summer, but he didn’t, remaining keen to prove himself to Arteta.

Though, he didn’t get much of a chance, left out of Arsenal’s Premier League and Europa League squads and now unable to feature in either of those competitions.
On the back of that, Ozil’s agent Sogut took aim at Arteta last week and within that rant, he brought up Arsenal’s redundancies and why they don’t resemble a ‘club with class’.
“You wouldn’t expect a club with class to make 55 people redundant just after winning the FA Cup or sacking a mascot after 27 years of service, just before making a £45 million signing [of Thomas Partey],” Sogut told ESPN FC.
“And it doesn’t help if people from outside the club speak on their behalf. It unfortunately gives a very bad picture of the club which we are not used to having at a team like Arsenal.
