Arteta reacts to Ozil’s social media posts
Mikel Arteta hailed Mesut Ozil’s public support of Arsenal during last night’s Europa League win over Rapid Vienna.
The German international did not travel to Austria with his teammates having been left out of this season’s Premier League and Europa League squads.
However, he took to social media to support Arsenal as they earned a 2-1 win.
“When I can’t support on the pitch tonight, I will support in front of the TV in London,” Ozil tweeted. “What are your predictions for the match? I go for a 4-1 away victory.”

Asked about Ozil’s comments, Arteta said: “It’s great. This is what I want from the players who aren’t in the squad.”
Arteta praises ‘fantastic’ Partey after full debut
Mikel Arteta labelled Thomas Partey’s full debut “fantastic” after the midfielder caught the eye against Rapid Vienna.
The Ghanaian, signed from Atletico Madrid on deadline day, made his first appearance for Arsenal from the bench against Manchester City last weekend. And he looked at home straight away as he played 90 minutes in Vienna.
“He looked really solid, really comfortable,” said Arteta in his post-match press conference. “He held midfield by himself in the second half when we were a little bit more open and starting to take more chances attacking certain places with some players.
“He was fantastic tonight and there’s much more to come from him.”
