Mesut Ozil has prompted quite the response from Arsenal supporters with his social media activity.
It’s matchday for the Gunners as they’re in action against Rapid Vienna on matchday one of this season’s Europa League group phase, but the attacking midfielder hasn’t travelled to Austria.
That’s because he’s not been included in the 25-man squad which was named earlier in the month.

As a result, Ozil has decided to watch the game from home.
He took to Twitter ahead of kick-off and backed Mikel Arteta’s side to kick off their European campaign with a comfortable victory.
“When I can’t support on the pitch tonight, I will support in front of the TV in London,” he tweeted. “What are your predictions for the match?
“I go for a 4-1 away victory.
“Goalscorers Sead Kolasinac, Mohamed Elneny, Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe.”
However, it’s subsequent posts throughout the first-half that appears to have annoyed a number of Arsenal supporters.
After posting another tweet as the game got underway, he then joked that former teammate Petr Cech was in goal for Rapid Vienna against the Gunners.
Judging by the response on social media, it’s clear that some fans wish Ozil would accept that he’s not in the Europa League squad and move on from the situation.
