Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s cryptic Instagram post after Arsenal fans fume at Gundogan chat

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang took to social media with what appeared to be a cryptic message after the events of the weekend, which saw Arsenal beaten 1-0 by Manchester City.

The Gunners captain could not prevent his side from being beaten at the Etihad, with Raheem Sterling’s first half goal the difference between the sides.

Arsenal’s recent struggles in front of goal continued as they failed to create many clear cut openings against Pep Guardiola’s side, with Aubameyang failing to make any real impact on the game from the left-flank.

At the final whistle, Aubameyang shared a brief conversation with his former Dortmund teammate Ilkay Gundogan, but this was met with anger from sections of Arsenal supporters who tweeted their frustration.

One wrote: “Auba standing chatting and having a laugh with a City player after a defeat is simply not acceptable.”

Although he did not directly reference the incident and the reaction from Arsenal supporters, the Gabon international appeared to point to the general fall out of the defeat and how he was already looking ahead.

On his Instagram story, Aubameyang uploaded a picture of himself on exercise bike, with the caption: “A lot of bla bla. At the end, we speak as usual.”

Former Premier League striker Darren Bent has questioned whether Aubameyang has lost his intensity since signing a new three-year contract at Arsenal.

Speaking on talkSPORT, former Tottenham and Charlton striker Bent said he is just as worried about the player’s performances in general since penning the new deal as he is about his lack of goals.

“It’s not the fact he hasn’t scored a goal, it’s the performances,” Bent said.
