Gabriel Martinelli could be back for Arsenal before the end of the year after the striker issued a positive injury update.
Martinelli has not featured since March due to a knee problem but the Brazilian is working hard and will return to training soon.
The 19-year-old put pen to paper on a new contract at the Emirates over the summer but is yet to feature back on the pitch due to his injury.
Though Martinelli hopes to be back in action before the year is out, opening up on the struggles he has had.
Martinelli told Arsenal Player: “I’m feeling very well, I’m regaining confidence and I can feel my knee is better.

“After an injury like this you are kind of scared to force the knee again but the past couple of weeks it has been fine and soon I can start training with the ball.
“I think we have an excellent squad and along with Mikel’s forward-thinking and winning mentality we can carry on doing well.
“We are playing well and training well, everyone wants to win and we are all giving everything. I believe this season is very promising.

“We won trophies last season and I believe we can win this season again and also qualify for the Champions League.”
Martinelli had previously disagreed with boss Mikel Arteta with the manager viewing the youngster as a centre-forward.
The Spaniard had said: “[Aubameyang and Martinelli] are centre forwards but with the squad balance that we have at the moment, to play on those positions on the left we don’t have five players.”
