Arsenal transfer rumours: Houssem Aouar £10m agent claim, Mesut Ozil move likely

With a short turnaround between transfer windows this year, the rumour mill remains in full speed at Arsenal.

While last Monday’s transfer deadline day stops the Gunners doing business with clubs overseas, they have until Friday to complete any deals with EFL sides.

With that in mind, here are the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

The Mirror report that Mesut Ozil is likely to move to the MLS when his Arsenal contract ends.

With the attacking midfielder effectively exiled from the Gunners after failing to make their Europa League squad, there is talk that the club may look at paying off his contract.

If so, then Ozil would be free to join any club in January, and a move to the USA looks to be on the cards.

Why Aouar deal fell through

ESPN, via the Mirror, report that Arsenal’s inability to get a deal for major target Houssem Aouar over the line was due to the refusal to pay £10m in agent’s fees to the player’s brother Brahim.
