Wenger offers Arteta advice over Ozil
Mesut Ozil is an outsider at Arsenal at the minute, and the German does not look likely to force his way into Mikel Arteta’s plans this season.
Ozil, who earns a reported £350,00 a week, is an expensive player to leave on the sidelines, and the man who originally signed him feels there’s still a way back.
Arsene Wenger told Der Spiegel that Arteta could alter his plans to accommodate the playmaker… which has largely been the problem for the Gunners over the past few years.
“He wasn’t exactly the one with the greatest discipline on the pitch,” the Gunners legend noted. “And playing the game without the ball wasn’t exactly his forte.
“But you can deal with that if you put some more defensively minded players by his side. The main thing is to get the balance between attack and defence right.”

Saka’s timing in the pass and how that improvement came around is discussed in the article, as is the slew of youngsters pressing for more Arsenal game time.
But Saka is the stand-out at present, the best example of the DNA which Arteta is trying…
