Arsenal evening headlines as Wenger has Ozil advice for Arteta and Keown delivers Saliba verdict

Good evening, here are your Arsenal headlines for Saturday, October 10.

Wenger offers Arteta advice over Ozil

Mesut Ozil is an outsider at Arsenal at the minute, and the German does not look likely to force his way into Mikel Arteta’s plans this season.

Ozil, who earns a reported £350,00 a week, is an expensive player to leave on the sidelines, and the man who originally signed him feels there’s still a way back.

Arsene Wenger told Der Spiegel that Arteta could alter his plans to accommodate the playmaker… which has largely been the problem for the Gunners over the past few years.

“He wasn’t exactly the one with the greatest discipline on the pitch,” the Gunners legend noted. “And playing the game without the ball wasn’t exactly his forte.

“But you can deal with that if you put some more defensively minded players by his side. The main thing is to get the balance between attack and defence right.”

The teenager has filled in at left-back, wing-back, central midfield and on the sides of the front line and continues to be a great outlet for the Gunners.
