‘January we’re coming’ – Arsenal fans go nuts about Houssem Aouar transfer after agent claim

Houssem Aouar’s agent reportedly played a role in Arsenal’s failure to sign the Lyon midfielder before the transfer window closed.

The Gunners were desperate to add a new creative midfielder to their squad and Aouar was thought to be their number one target throughout the summer.

Arsenal’s initial bid for Aouar was rejected by Lyon and the Gunners were planning to make an improved second bid to get a deal over the line on deadline day.

But the French midfielder eventually declared that he was staying at the Groupama stadium, leaving Arsenal to complete a deal for Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey instead.

Regardless, some Arsenal supporters took to social media with optimism that a future deal for the France midfielder can still be completed.
