Mesut Ozil, David Luiz and the Arsenal players who are out of contract at the end of the season

For Arsenal it was an extremely successful transfer window, with the likes of Gabriel Magalhaes, Willian and Thomas Partey arriving at the club on permanent deals.

They also made the loan moves for Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari permanent, and agreed another year’s loan for Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid.

Some interesting departures were also made, with Matteo Guendouzi leaving on loan for Hertha Berlin, Lucas Torreira agreeing a short-term move to Atletico Madrid.

Meanwhile, Emi Martinez left on a permanent transfer to Aston Villa, with the Gunners picking up around £20million for the Argentinian keeper.

All of that has left Mikel Arteta in a good place to build his squad over the next few years – though there are a number of players whose futures will have to be decided on before the end of the season.

Arsenal currently have six members of their team who will be out of contract in July next year.


The Greek star joined the Gunners in 2018 for a reported fee of £17.6million after five years at Borussia Dortmund.

However, his impact in North London has not been the best, making 44 Premier League appearances over his two years so far.

With the arrivals of Gabriel Magalhaes, David Luiz and William Saliba over the past two seasons, Sokratis is likely to see his game time significantly reduced this season, and whether Arsenal will consider a new deal for the 32-year-old remains to be seen.
