Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Dembele boost, wonderkid ‘confirms’ deal, Partey phone call

The summer transfer window has closed, well partially.

The window remains open for domestic transfers which means there could also be some more incomings and exits too at Arsenal as players look for fresh starts elsewhere.

Arsenal had until 11pm on Monday to finalise moves in and out at the Emirates Stadium as Mikel Arteta looked to further strengthen his squad after a strong start to the 2020/21 campaign.

And the Gunners managed to seal a deal for the former after activating his £45m release clause at Atletico Madrid to make him the club’s fifth summer signing after Dani Ceballos, Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Alex Runarsson.

However, just because the window is technically closed, that doesn’t mean the rumours have gone away.

With that said, here is a round-up of some of the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

Dembele boost

Barcelona are said to be ‘seething’ with Ousmane Dembele.

The winger, was subject to interest from the likes of Manchester United in the summer window. But according to AS, he refused to leave Camp Nou, digging his heels in order to avoid a move.

That has left Barcelona furious after they pleaded with Dembele in a bid to convince him to depart.

Due to the winger’s refusal to depart, Barcelona couldn’t push through a deal for Lyon star Memphis Depay.

Arsenal have often been linked with 23-year-old but weren’t understood to be one of the clubs interested this summer.

Could that change in January? If so, Dembele’s decision will be a boost for Mikel Arteta and Edu.
