Here are your Arsenal morning headlines for Wednesday, 7 October.
‘Perfect’ Arsenal signing will need time to settle
Thomas Partey has been hailed as the “perfect” signing of Arsenal, but the Ghanaian midfielder will still need time to settle in his new surroundings according to one of his former coaches, Avram Grant.
Grant got to know Thomas during his three-year spell as Ghana national team manager and believes the midfielder is exactly what Arteta needs. However, he warned Arsenal fans not to expect too much from the player from the start.
“I’d ask the Arsenal fans to give him a few weeks just to get used to English football, because it is still played differently in the Premier League to anywhere else, even if there are more foreign players now,” Grant told The Sun.
“But he will prove a good signing, perfect for what Mikel Arteta is trying to do. When you need him to hold the ball up, he can do that and he is a great fit for what Arteta is trying to make his team. If you ask him to play wide, he can but it’s not his position.

“He is a central midfielder, who will win the ball and play the right pass forward and can see the pitch, tactically disciplined as well and committed to his team. And he will make a big difference to Arsenal, just like he did at Atletico. He is a really good signing, just what they needed.”
New Arsenal midfielder breaks silence after deadline day drama
Thomas Partey has thanked the Arsenal support for their welcome after the midfielder completed a dramatic deadline day switch from Atletico Madrid.
The Gunners activated the £45million release clause in the player’s contract with just hours of the summer transfer window remaining, getting a deal done before the deadline as Lucas Torreira headed in the other direction on loan.
