Mikel Arteta sends message to Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi ahead of looming transfer deadline

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has sent a message to outcasts Matteo Guendouzi and Mesut Ozil.

Both players are on the outskirts of Arteta’s squad, with neither featuring yet this season for the Gunners.

Ozil hasn’t played for Arsenal since March, while Guendouzi hasn’t featured since an altercation with Neal Maupay at Brighton in June.

Arsenal would like to ship out both players before the end of the transfer window but finding a buyer for Ozil, in particular, will be tough before Monday.

Asked about the future of both players, Arteta said: “The way we manage the squad, we tell everybody the role we expect from them. The players have really good communication with myself and the club.
