The Premier League Big Six’s outcasts ahead of transfer deadline day

Autumn may be officially upon us, but unlike the weather the delayed summer transfer window is set to heat up this week as clubs up and down the country rush to complete their business.

It looks set to be a particularly busy time among the Premier League‘s Big Six, who are desperate to offload unwanted players to lighten the load on their wage bill.

Arsenal could well be the busiest club as Mikel Arteta looks to raise funds to land at least one new midfielder, while Chelsea have a number of stars up for grabs after Frank Lampard‘s huge summer spending spree.

Elsewhere, Liverpool have youngsters to move on, Jose Mourinho must decide what to do with Dele Alli and Manchester United are yet to begin clearing their deadwood.

It’s a different story at free-spending Manchester City, although one defender has a big decision to make on his future following the arrivals of Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake for over £100million.

Here, Sportsmail runs down the outcasts at the Big Six and looks at where they could end up before the transfer window slams shut on October 5.
