Here are your Arsenal morning rumours for Thursday, October 1.

Atletico Madrid poised to launch second bid for Arsenal star

Atletico Madrid are said to be poised to launch a second bid for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.

Mikel Arteta is said to be happy to let Torreira leave this summer with the club now looking to bring in Lyon playmaker Houssem Aouar in a big to take the club to the next level.

The Daily Mail suggests that an exit for Torreira could provide the Gunners with the funds to get an Aouar deal done and that the Spanish side are not put off after having already seen one bid for his supposedly rejected.

Torreira’s departure to make way for Aouar would be considered good business but, still adored amongst Arteta’s players, he will be missed at Arsenal.

Bernd Leno told Goal: “Torreira’s incredible. He’s a fighter. He’s so important for our game, for the whole defence.”

Arsenal are still working hard to find Arteta a new midfielder recruit this summer, and are eager to bring in the Lyon man.

And that has ended any interest in Partey, despite suggestions that it could make a deal for Lucas Torreira to leave the club much easier.

Atletico are said to be demanding no less than the player’s reported £49m release clause.
