How much do you practice penalties because Arsenal seem to execute them really well?
We do practice but then at the end of the day it depends on the players, how they are and on the day whether they make the right decision. Obviously the keepers get really involved as well on that.
What is your reaction to Bukayo Saka’s call-up to the England squad?
I’m extremely happy for him, he totally deserves that chance. He’s a really humble boy, he’s willing to learn every day, he works really hard and he has an incredible talent. It’s a combination of everything you need to be successful. That call-up is going to fill him with confidence even more and I’m really happy for him.

This was a big night for Bernd Leno after Emiliano Martinez’s departure?
We had two fantastic goalkeepers that they were both performing really well, Bernd before he had the injury and then Emi when he came on. We had to make decisions, I think it was a moment where Emi needed the next step and financially it was a really interesting proposal for us and we need to manage the resources we have to strengthen the team. I’m really happy for him [Leno], for his performance, the character that he’s shown tonight and it was really helpful to get us through to the next round.
More pressure on Leno this season?
I think the biggest pressure is coming from the players individually, honestly. I don’t think they read that much about what other people are saying to be fair. He’s very stable, he works, he has his routines and I don’t think he’s very much bothered about what’s happening outside.
What’s the reason for no William Saliba? Just easing him in?
He had a very last year where Arsenal loaned him to Saint-Etienne and that was a transition year for him. For many reasons, that wasn’t the transition year that he needed…
