Tierney, Ozil, Aubameyang – Latest Arsenal injury news and return dates ahead of Liverpool clash

Arsenal return to Carabao Cup action this week with a trip to Liverpool.

It’s the second trip to Anfield in a matter of days for the Gunners following the Premier League encounter over the weekend.

Despite Arsenal taking the lead through Alexandre Lacazette, the Premier League defending champions roared back with goals from Sadio Mane, Andrew Robertson and Diogo Jota to seal a 3-1 victory.

Mikel Arteta’s side have a couple of days to lick their wounds after that loss before facing the Reds again in the fourth round of the cup.

The Arsenal boss is expected to rotate his squad, somewhat, for the cup clash – as he aims to give some of his fringe players an opportunity to impress.

Here is The Gunners’ injury list in full.

Kieran Tierney

Kieran Tierney returned to the starting line-up for Arsenal’s loss against Liverpool, having missing the Gunners’ last two matches with a slight groin problem.

He defender took an arm to the face from Sadio Mane in the first few minutes of the game but played the whole 90.

He could be a player given the night off by Arteta.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The Arsenal captain was left out of the squad to face Leicester in the Carabao Cup, but this was a tactical decision from Mikel Arteta to rest his star player.

Aubameyang played every minute of the Liverpool match but could be kept fresh with a hectic fixture list on the horizon.

Mesut Ozil

Mesut Ozil has been left out of all of Arsenal’s matchday squads so far, but it is understood the German is not injured, and it was purely a tactical decision from Mikel Arteta.
