Arsenal have rubbished rumours Ainsley Maitland-Niles could be set for a move to Manchester United before the transfer deadline.
Maitland-Niles was on the brink of a £30million switch to Wolves earlier this summer but Mikel Arteta made it clear that the versatile 23-year-old remained a key part of his plans for the future after an outstanding performance in the Community Shield.
Reports this week suggested Arsenal and Arteta had backtracked on this stance, with United holding advanced discussions to land Maitland-Niles in a £20m deal plus bonuses and add-ons.
After all, the Gunners are looking to raise funds for either Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey or Lyon’s Houssem Aouar and have been listening to offers for a number of their first-team stars, including Sead Kolasinac, Lucas Torreira, Sokratis and Shkodran Mustafi.
But, according to Goal, Maitland-Niles is not on this list of players up for sale and Arsenal…
