Mesut Ozil Instagram post has Arsenal fans looking for hidden meaning

An Instagram story posted by Mesut Ozil has got Arsenal supporters talking, with some speculating over a hidden meaning placed by the German playmaker.

Ozil has struggled to force his way into the first team under Mikel Arteta, with Lucas Torreira and Shkodran Mustafi also out of the Spaniard’s plans for the future.

The post, which depicts weights on the floor of the gym at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground, tags all three players in the story with the words ‘everything taken apart’ in German.

Most likely, Ozil was merely referencing how the players have left their dumbbells off the stands, leaving a mess behind after a gym session, but some fans have taken the post as a comment on his future, and the future of two teammates, at the club.

Arsenal plans for young midfielders as club plots transfers

Mikel Arteta wants at least one more midfielder added to his Arsenal squad before the summer window closes next week and whether or not that happens could have a knock-on effect on some of the club’s young midfield prospects.

Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey have been strongly linked with a move to North London. The signing of one of both of these players could affect Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson.

The two youngsters are highly rated at the Emirates Stadium, with Arsenal and Nelson’s representatives working on finding a loan deal that would allow the winger to play first team football this season.

Smith Rowe, however, is unlikely to be loaned out this season, with Arteta of the belief the midfielder should work under him to accelerate his development.
