Gary Neville was critical of Mohamed Salah over a ‘selfish’ and ‘greedy’ decision during Liverpool’s Premier League victory over Arsenal.
Jurgen Klopp’s side maintained their perfect start to the season with a 3-1 win over Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on Monday evening.
Alexandre Lacazette gave the Gunners the lead but goals from Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson saw Liverpool lead at the break.
The Reds initially failed to put the game to bed during a tense second half but new signing Diogo Jota drilled home late on to secure the three points.
Jota in fact appeared set to score minutes before he opened his Liverpool account but Salah nicked the ball off his team-mate in the box before losing possession.
Commentating on the Premier League clash for Sky Sports, former Manchester United and England defender Neville said: ‘That is the selfish part of his game.
‘He’s thought, “you’re not having a goal already” and taken it off of him. It was Jota’s ball.
