Arsenal ace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang urges Houssem Aouar to make Gunners transfer

Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has launched a charm offensive to try and convince Lyon ace Houssem Aouar to join Mikel Arteta’s side.

The clock is ticking on the Gunners’ summer recruitment plans, with one week to go until transfer deadline day.

Arteta has brought in the likes of defender Gabriel Magalhaes and winger Willian, as well as convincing star striker Aubameyang to commit his future to the Premier League side.

But the manager still needs to strengthen his midfield, with attacking ace Aouar and Atletico Madrid man Thomas Partey his top priorities.

Arsenal have already made one for Aouar, with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas having indicated that an offer of £32million was rejected by the Ligue 1 outfit.

And the Gunners will this week increase their offer to £36.5m plus almost £10m in add-ons, according to Football London .

That would still fall short of Lyon’s valuation, with the French side rating their 22-year-old prospect at £54m.

But Aubamayeng hopes Arteta and Co get the deal over the line, as he believes the France under-21 international has plenty to bring to Arsenal’s push for a Champions League place.

“He’s a very good player,” said Aubameyang, who played in Ligue 1 for Saint-Etienne before joining Borussia Dortmund.
