Arsenal fans are saying the same thing as Unai Emery endures Barcelona nightmare

It was a night to forget for former Arsenal manager Unai Emery and his Villareal side in La Liga against Barcelona.

At the Nou Camp, Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona were 4-0 up at half-time in their opening game of the new La Liga season – a scoreline that caught the eye of Arsenal fans.

Former Gunners boss Unai Emery was in the away dugout at the Nou Camp, having taken over at Villarreal.

He joined on a three-year deal in July, succeeding Javi Calleja, who had guided the team to a fifth-placed finish.

It is Emery’s first job since he was sacked by Arsenal in November 2019 after 18 months in charge.

The Spaniard was dismissed by the Gunners following their worst run without a win for 27 years.

Having taken a win and a draw from his opening two games at the helm, Emery found his side four goals down after 45 minutes at Barcelona, who were playing under new boss Ronald Koeman for the first time.

Ansu Fati bagged a brace before Lionel Messi converted a penalty and a Pau Torres own goal just before the break left the visitors with a mountain to climb, with Villareal unable to recover.

Here’s what some Arsenal fans were saying about the game on Twitter.
