Arsenal can prove the doubters wrong by beating Liverpool again, says Kevin Campbell.
Mikel Arteta ‘s men secured FA Cup glory last season.
However, they finished a lowly eighth in the Premier League and a staggering 43 points behind the title-winning Reds.
It was Arsenal’s lowest finish since 1995 and they only managed four away wins all season.
This campaign is already looking more encouraging for the north London faithful.
The Gunners battered Fulham 3-0 on the opening day and followed that up with hard-fought 2-1 triumph over West Ham last weekend.
Former striker Campbell reckons a positive result against Liverpool is needed to show that Arsenal are the real deal, though.
Mikel Arteta has seen his Arsenal side beat both West Ham and Fulham in the Premier League this season
“Arsenal have started off well with two wins, but the big test will come on Monday at Anfield, that’s a good gauge,” he said.
“How they play against Liverpool will be a definite yardstick to how this Arsenal team is going to perform moving forward and whether they can show the consistency needed.
“If you get something at Anfield, then you know you’re on the right track.”

Arsenal came out on top when the two sides locked horns in the Community Shield last month.
They won 5-4 on penalties after the match finished 1-1 in normal time.
Following the match at Wembley, Arsenal swooped for Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille for £23m.
Having started the first two games of the season – and scoring on his debut against Fulham – the highly-rated Brazilian centre-back is expected to get the nod at Anfield.
