Lyon chief on Aouar bid

Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas has played down the chances of Houssem Aouar leaving the French side in the final few weeks of the transfer window.

The Gunners reportedly made their first offer for the Frenchman this week but it has been made clear that it was not enough to persuade Lyon into a deal.

Taking to Twitter, Aulas said: “There will be very few exits. For Houssem, Arsenal is too far from his value.

“We are counting on him to play a great match in Lorient and to lead Lyon in [the] Champions League next year.”
