Former Arsenal forward makes claim about Manchester United summer signing
Ian Wright believes Donny van de Beek would have been a better signing for Arsenal than Manchester United.
The Dutch midfielder made the switch to Old Trafford from Ajax earlier in this transfer window, bolstering United in the centre of the pitch, but Wright claims there would have been a clearer role for him at the Emirates Stadium.
“Donny van de Beek, he’s someone that I wish someone more like Arsenal could have taken,” the former Arsenal forward said on The Kelly and Wrighty Show.
“When you look at Pogba, what he’s doing, and you look at Bruno Fernandes – that is Donny van de Beek’s position. So people are thinking they’re going to see Van de Beek [sitting] with Pogba and Fernandes, but I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

£50m swoop for Tottenham midfielder suggested by Arsenal legend
Ray Parlour has urged Arsenal to make a £50million move for Dele Alli, with the midfielder’s future at Tottenham Hotspur currently up in the air.
Alli has been linked with a switch to both Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain, but Parlour believes Arsenal should be the ones to plot a move for the England international despite the rivalry between the two North London clubs.
“He would certainly be a good fit,” Parlour told The Mirror. “I’m trying to think what he would be worth. I would say £50million has got to be the marker.
“One thing about Arsenal, I think they are lacking goals from central midfield areas, so he could tick that box. He does score goals, he will probably get you 10 from midfield if he plays on a regular basis.”
