Manchester United earned their first Premier League win of the season in dramatic fashion this afternoon.
Brighton & Hove Albion looked to have taken a well-deserved point from their home clash with United when Solly March headed in five minutes into stoppage time to make it 2-2.
That came after a Lewis Dunk own goal and one from Marcus Rashford had cancelled out Neal Maupay’s first-half penalty.
But VAR had other ideas when Maupay handled from a Harry Maguire header seconds before full-time. Maguire’s header was cleared off the line by March, with referee Chris Kavanagh blowing for the end of the game.

However, he was alerted to Maupay deflecting Maguire’s header with his arm, Kavanagh went to the pitch side monitor and awarded a penalty. Bruno Fernandes dispatched it and sealed a 3-2 win.
With Arsenal hoping to challenge United for their top-four spot this term, Gunners fans were in pretty confident mood after the Amex clash.
@arsenalfc_mark: United aren’t a rival for top 4 if they keep playing like this IMO.
@ArsenalRalph: Man Utd fans mocking Maupay meanwhile Brighton have just played them off the park & deserved a win of 3 goals or more. If I was a United fan I wouldn’t be very happy.
@ArsenalAtHeartt: The referee blow the full-time whistle but then went back to check for a penalty – Manchester United have bought the league a long time ago and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
@ArsenalOneStop: Manchester United get given a penalty after the full time whistle is blown never seen anything like it. Very lucky to win they were battered all game.
@NiStuart: United needed every ounce of luck they got today. Awful performance and one that will give all top 4 rivals great hope.
@iam_k9: Arsenal will finish above Manchester United this season.
