Klopp explains why Arteta’s Arsenal are so difficult to play against

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits Arsenal’s defensive structure and counter-attacking threat is what makes Mikel Arteta’s side so difficult for top teams to play against.

The champions go up against the Gunners on Monday night, with both teams heading into the match with 100 per cent records in the Premier League so far.

The last time the two sides met in the Community Shield in August, Arsenal won the game on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in normal time.

A hallmark of Arteta’s new look Gunners side is their defensive stability, with all 11 players working hard for the team, while the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang provides plenty of speed when transitioning from defence to attack.

Klopp says their organisation in defence makes them a nightmare for teams attempting to break them down.

‘It’s a defensive structure, they defend properly,’ the German boss admitted. ‘All the players are involved in their defending.
