Jordan Henderson to miss Arsenal visit as Jurgen Klopp delivers latest Liverpool injury news

Jurgen Klopp has delivered the latest Liverpool injury news ahead of the visit from Arsenal on Monday night.

The Gunners put their 100 percent winning record at the start of the new season against the defending Premier League champions at Anfield.

And whilst Mikel Arteta’s side aren’t considered by many as potential title challengers this term, they have beaten the Reds twice in recent months – including winning the Community Shield on penalties.

However, the north London outfit do not have a good away record against teams in the so-called ‘top-six’, and next week’s clash on Merseyside will show how far they’ve progressed under Arteta.

And ahead of the big game, there’s been some mixed news on the injury front for the hosts.

Captain Jordan Henderson has been ruled out of the game as he’s not recovered from the thigh problem sustained against Chelsea and defender Joel Matip remains sidelines.

The good news for the Reds boss is that Joel Gomez could be available after missing the 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge as well as the 7-2 Carabao Cup win over Lincoln.

“Joe (Gomez) should be back today in training, that’s what everyone has told me,” Klopp told reporters, as per the Liverpool Echo. “Billy the kid is back in training.

“Joel not. Hendo not yet, this game is for sure too early.”

Gomez being declared fit could result in a reshuffle for Liverpool.

The England would most likely partner Virgil van Dijk in central defence which would then allow Fabinho to step back into his favoured position in front of the back four.
