Atletico Madrid’s stance on Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has emerged as he is linked with an exit.
The Gunners have had their eye on La Liga star Thomas Partey throughout the summer, with a £45m deal being negotiated.
Torreira has been touted as part of the deal for the Ghanaian international in a swap deal before the Spanish side snubbed it.
But El Chiringuito TV has reported that Atletico’s position on the Uruguayan has changed in the week, saying Arsenal’s No.11 is now the club’s “goal” for the rest of the transfer window.
Arsenal have already bolstered their squad with the arrivals of Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes and goalkeeper Alex Runarsson.

But Mikel Arteta wants to add Partey, who has made nearly 200 appearances for Atletico which includes Champions League experience, to his squad.
And the north London side appeared to be getting closer to the 27-year-old’s transfer, “agreeing” personal terms with the midfielder earlier this week.
Arsenal, though, have also been keeping tabs on another European star in Lyon’s Houssem Aouar.
The Frenchman guided his side to the Champions League semi-finals last season – but the Gunners have been dealt a blow by club chief Jean-Michel Aulas.

He told Le Progres: “Financially, Arsenal are like everyone else (in a tricky spot).
“And Houssem could say to himself that the best thing would be to stay with us.”
Torreira may not be the only player on the way out in north London, though, as Arteta is eyeing up seven stars to put up for sale as funds for Partey and Aouar.
