Arsenal transfer rumours: Houssem Aouar setback, Thomas Partey tipped to sign, Sokratis twist

Time is ticking down in this summer’s transfer window.

Arsenal have completed four deals so far with Dani Ceballos returning for another loan spell from La Liga giants Real Madrid, while Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Alex Runarsson are the three permanent signings.

But another midfielder is on the agenda, with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey understood to be a key target, whilst Lyon’s Houssem Aouar has also been linked with a move to north London.

There could also be some exits as players look for fresh starts elsewhere.

The Gunners have until Monday, October 5 to finalise moves in and out at the Emirates Stadium as Mikel Arteta looks to further strengthen his squad.

Sokratis twist

An unnamed Premier League club has joined the race to sign out-of-favour Arsenal defender Sokratis.

The Greek centre-back is poised to leave the Emirates Stadium before next month’s transfer deadline with Italian giants Napoli poised to secure his signature.

However, that could all be about to change according to The Sun, who report that an unnamed Premier League club have joined the race to sign him.

Napoli’s hopes of signing the former Borussia Dortmund man, of course, rest on whether or not Kalidou Koulibaly, who is being heavily linked with Manchester City, seals an exit.
