Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang admits transfer away from Arsenal tempted him

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has admitted he was thinking about leaving Arsenal, before he decided to commit his future to the club.

The Gunners skipper kept fans on tenterhooks for months, before finally penning a new three-year deal earlier this month.

It is understood that Aubameyang rejected two offers in the build-up to the contract offer, with rumoured interest from Barcelona.

And in an interview with Sky Sports, he’s revealed he did consider leaving the Emirates.

He said: “I was thinking about it to tell you the truth because I had good opportunities as well.

“But this feeling to be here – the love from the fans and all the club – I’m not sure that by leaving I will receive the same love, so that’s why I’m staying.
