Laurent Koscielny breaks silence over ‘disrespectful’ Arsenal exit video

Laurent Koscielny has apologised to Arsenal fans over his Bordeaux announcement video.

The Frenchman was slammed for the video which showed him taking off an Arsenal shirt and revealing a Bordeaux jersey underneath.

The video was labelled ‘disrespectful’ by Gunners legend Ian Wright while fans were left furious.

Koscielny was already in the bad books of Arsenal fans after he refused to take part in a pre-season trip to the US as he looked to force through a move with one year remaining on his contract.

Skipping pre-season worked, the 35-year-old getting his move to Bordeaux after nine years with the Gunners, leaving for a fee of less than £5million.

But his goodbye was soured by the video, something he has now apologised for.

“I had 9 incredible years there, lots of memories with this club,” he told a French outlet.

Koscielny has gone on to make 25 league appearances for Bordeaux who finished 12th in Ligue 1 last season, the 2019/20 French campaign ending early due to coronavirus.
