Jorginho can pick up where he left off with Gabriel Martinelli if he signs for Arsenal

Jorginho will be working with a player he has plenty of admiration for if he joins Arsenal.

The Chelsea midfielder has been linked with a surprise move to the Emirates Stadium with Mikel Arteta keen to strengthen his midfield.

And if he was to make the move, he would get the chance to play with a player he very much likes the look of.

Jorginho is Brazil-born but an Italy international and earlier this year, he tried to get Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli to follow in his footsteps.

Like Jorginho, Martinelli is Brazil-born but is eligible to play for Italy with his father being Italian.

According to Globo Esporte Jorginho told Martinelli earlier this year: “I am waiting for you in March” in a bid to sway him towards playing for Italy.

Jorginho also praised Martinelli following a game, saying: “He is really doing an incredible job. He burst out of nowhere. He has the merit that he was ready the moment the opportunity came.

Martinelli has represented Brazil under-23s but he is yet to play internationally at senior level, allowing him to choose Brazil or Italy.
